Bassano del Brenta > East bank - North

Michele Brunelli

The borough of San Marco borders San Vito (to the north), Ca' Baroncello (to the south), Centro Storico (to the west) and the municipality of Cassola (to the east). It is densely populated and currently has no parks. Along its border with Cassola, Ramo Unito runs southwards and subsequently splits into Canale Centrale, which enters Cassola, and Canale Occidentale, which enters the borough of Ca' Baroncello, in Bassano.

<< Ramo Unito (looking northwards): the rosta proceeds from the north (in the background) along Via Gaidon, a street that lies between Bassano and Cassola. In the picture, the right side of the streets falls within the municipality of Cassola, while Bassano is on the left side. In the background (enlarge the photo) it is possible to recognize the sluice gate where Canale Occidentale splits from Ramo Unito to run westwards through San Marco.

<< Canale Centrale along a cycle lane in Cassola: it flows from the west (in the background) to the east (behind the observer), after splitting from Ramo Unito. The houses in the background are in Bassano.
