Bassano del Brenta > East bank - South
Michele Brunelli
Quartier Pre' is an east bank borough located in the south of Bassano. It borders San Lazzaro (to the north) and Marchesane (to the northwest), river Brenta (to the west), and the municipalities of Cartigliano (to the south and the east) and Rosą (also to the east). As its name suggests (pre is an old form corresponding to modern ven. prai, the plural of pra 'meadow'), the borough of Quartier Pre' is part of the lowlands and consists mostly of farmland. It hosts an industrial zone, but also the regional rural park Parco delle Rogge. This park is named after the rogge (roste) that flow through its fields since centuries: the largest ones are Rosta Rosą, Rosta Bernarda and Rosta Dolfina, from which Rosta Remondina-Morosina splits.
<<^^ Rosta Bernarda (looking southwards) near the industrial zone of Quartier Prč. It splits from Rosta Dolfina, which takes its water from la Brenta at the catchment points between San Lazzaro and San Fortunato. Its waters reach the municipality of Cartigliano, south of Bassano.
^^ Rosta Remondina-Morosina (looking southwards) flowing in Parco delle Rogge rural park. The rosta splits from Rosta Dolfina in Quartier Prč (behind the observer) and flows southwards into Rosą (in the foreground).
^^ Rosta Rosą (looking eastwards) flows from Quartiere Prč towards Rosą along the border between Bassano (to the left) and Rosą (to the right), near Parco delle Rogge rural park. It originates at the catchment points of San Lazzaro and San Fortunato.
<< Rosta Balbi (looking westwards) along a cycle lane in Rosą: Rosta Balbi and Rosta Munara derive their waters from Rosta Rosą, which proceeds from Quartier Pre', Bassano, in the west.
