Quartiere Merlo is a borough located in the lowlands, east of la Brenta, in the south of Bassano. It is enclosed between Santa Croce (to the northeast), Borgo Zucco (to the north west), San Bassiano (to the east), San Lazzaro and a small tip of San Fortunato (both to the west), Quartier Prč (to the southwest) and the municipality of Rosą (to the south). Through the fields of Merlo, various roste flow as Canale Gasparinii and Canale Ferronato, which run through Santa Croce. These sluices take their water from Canale Occidentale di Ponente, at different points of Quartiere Firenze, and ultimately from the channel system of Canale Industriale, also called Canale Ca' Barziza, which collects the water of la Brenta in Campolongo, near Campese.
