Bassano del Brenta > West bank - South
Michele Brunelli
The borough of Marchesane is located on the west bank of la Brenta. It borders Quartiere XXV Aprile (to the north), Rondō Brenta (to the northeast), la Brenta river (to the east), and the municipalities of Nove (to the south) and Marostica (to the west). In Marchesane there is a catchment point that feeds the southwestern network of ditches through Canale Unico and Rosta Isachina, but, interestingly, this channel is also fed by water piped from San Lazzaro, on the east bank of the river. Moreover, the water that proceeds from these channels merges with that of Silan /si'laŋ/, which flows into la Brenta, and Longhella, which proceeds from Marostica.

Water under water: in San Lazzaro, on the east bank, part of the waters of Canale Medoaco are piped under river la Brenta to feed Canale Unico in Marchesane, on the west bank. >>
^^ Canale Unico-Rosta Isachina (looking westwards) running along via Settecase, in the borough of Marchesane.
^^ Rosta Brentella (looking northwards): it splits from Rosta Isachina in via Settecase, in the borough of Marchesane.
<< Rosta Brentella runs under stream Silan (looking southward): in this place of Marchesane, Brentella runs under Silan, which proceeds from Rubbio, Valrovina, San Michele and XXV Aprile. Silan then joins Longhella, which proceeds from Marostica, and flows into la Brenta farther to the south, in Marchesane. Brentella, in turn, runs southwards to Nove and other municipalities south of Bassano.
<< Rosta Isachina Superiore (looking northwards): its water, proceeding from Marchesane, Bassano (in the north), enters Nove after flowing along the border with Marostica.
